Luo Wendong is the Party Secretary of the Academy of Marxism of the CASS, Professor of School of Marxism of University of Chinese Academy of School Sciences, Research Fellow-Grade 2 and PhD supervisor. Between 1985 and 1992, he studied for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the Department of Philosophy at Beijing Normal University, and between 1992 and 1995 studied in the PhD program in the Institute of Marxism-Leninism at Renmin University of China. He was once Director of Research Unit of Contemporary Capitalism and Assistant to the President of the Institute of Marxism-Leninism and Mao Zedong Thought of the CASS, Assistant to the President of Chongqing Academy of Social Sciences (selected by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and Central Committee of the Communist Youth League to take a temporary post in Western Doctoral Service Corps), Director of the Department of Marxist Development at the Academy of Marxism of the CASS (2007, at the deputy director level), Deputy Director of the Informationization Management Office of the CASS, Vice President of the Institute for Contemporary China Studies (2016, at the director level), Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Social Sciences in China Press, Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Social Sciences Net, Party Secretary and Vice President of the Institute of World History Studies (in charge of the overall work since August of 2021). He has also held several social positions, mainly including: Vice President of Scientific Socialism Institute of China, Vice President of Chinese Anthropological Society, and so on. His major research results include: more than 10 monographs and books of which he presided over the compilation, more than 100 articles published in newspapers and academic journals such as People’s Daily, Guangming Daily, Economic Daily, Qiushi, Historical Research, Studies on Marxism, Studies on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics and so on. He presided over and participated in more than 20 National Social Science Fund projects and provincial and ministerial level projects, and won more than 10 national as well as provincial and ministerial level awards.
