
Mao Zedong insisted on fighting “evil spirits” (anti-revolution ideas) throughout his life, as he continually deepened his understanding of “evil spirits” under the guidance of Marxism, accurately grasped the categories and stages of struggle, constantly adhered to the mass line, and formed a philosophy of struggle which was literally expressed as “neither worshiping evils nor fearing ghosts”. Mao Zedong’s philosophy of struggle germinated under the slogan of pursuing democracy and science, developed in the revolutionary struggle to overthrow the old world, and improved in the challenge of building a new world. The philosophy boasts the distinctive features of fundamentally focusing on the main social contradictions and the main tasks of the revolution, being bold and courageous in the struggle, and safeguarding national security and social stability in the course of the struggle. in the practical process of promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese modernization, Mao’s philosophy of struggle is of great theoretical and practical significance.
