Tang Aijun: Chinese path to modernization: Effective Combination of Socialism and Modernization
     Release time: 2024-09-03
Marx’s discourse on “socialist modernization”, especially the combination of “socialism” and “modernization”, is relatively scarce. The victories of the October Revolution in Russia and the Chinese Revolution led to the transition of “socialist modernization” from theoretical conception to practical exploration, and the combination of “socialism” and “modernization” began in the special space of economically and culturally backward countries. Chinese path to modernization is a new type of modernization that effectively combines “socialism” and “modernization” in the special space of economically and culturally backward countries, with two-way construction. On the one hand, Chinese path to modernization, focusing on the effective development logic of modernization, has realized the effective combination of socialism and modernization through theoretical innovations such as the theory of the primary stage of socialism and the theory of socialist market economy, and has gone beyond the traditional sociological model that weakens the connotation of modernization. On the other hand, focusing on the socialist logic, Chinese path to modernization has achieved the effective combination of modernization and socialism through theoretical breakthroughs and institutional innovations such as the fundamental system of CPC leadership, the pursuit of socialist values centered on the people, and the socialist system with Chinese characteristics, and has gone beyond the capitalist modernization model that dispels the nature of socialism. In essence, Chinese path to modernization is a great social reform in which the socialist construction on modernization guided by the principles of scientific socialism and the modern national construction on modernization.
