Achieving the centenary goal of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army(PLA) is a major decision made by the CPC Central Committee and the Central Military Commission in meeting the requirements of the era: building a strong country and strengthening the armed forces. It is a major task that has a bearing on the overall situation of the national security and development, and a very important step in the new “three-steps” of China’s national defense and military modernization. To effectively meet the overall requirements of the centenary goal of the PLA, we must uphold CPC’s absolute leadership over the people’s army, persist in building the army through political means, strengthening the army through reform, science and technology and qualified personnel and managing the army according to law; we must persist in struggles, prepare for war and keep the pace of construction at the same time; we must persist in the integrated development of mechanical, informational and intelligent armament, and accelerate the “four modernizations” of national defense and the army. Achieving the centenary goal of the PLA is the will of the Party and the aspiration of the people and it is an important task of the times that the people’s army must shoulder and a historical answer that they must present. On the new journey in the new era, we must strengthen the Party building in the people’s army in an all-round way, comprehensively reinforce military training and preparation, enhance military governance in all respects, and consolidate and improve the integration of the national strategic systems and capabilities.
