The year of 2017 is the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution of 1917, which carries significant importance.When it comes to figuring out the common significance of the revolution, we shall clarify three issues. We should fairly evaluate its initial achievement of the Soviet Union’s pattern of socialism, analyze the reasons for the transition of the Soviet Union to Capitalism, and exam the relationship between the October Revolution and the socialism with Chinese characteristics. Under the guidance of Marxism-Leninism as well as the leadership of the CPC,Chinese achieved the victory of new-democratic revolution and socialist revolution,and accomplished enormously in socialist construction and the undertaking

of reform and opening-up. “Taking the Russian path” refers to taking the pathway of the October Revolution. The CPC takes their own undertaking as the succession of the October Revolution while the socialism with Chinese characteristics is its improvement and development.
