The cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics has transformed from a trinity structure to that of four-in-one and then five-in-one. The objective ground of transformation is the change of social reality and development of practice, while its theoretical basis is the change in the way of thinking. The transformation from trinity to four-in-one is of significance to innovation of thought. The transformation from four-in-one to five-in-one shows that the general layout is an open system. The essence of the general layout lies in the overall, harmonious and scientific development of  society. Our Party has, through these transformations, enriched and developed the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, which is of direct guiding significance to socialism with Chinese characteristics.
