Jiang Hui, PhD and researcher, male, Han nationality, is currently an alternate member of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Minister and News Spokesman of its Publicity Department. He joined the Communist Party of China in June 1994. From 1997 to 2012, he served consecutively as Deputy Director and Director of the Research Unit of Contemporary Foreign Studies on Marxism and Socialism at the Institute of Marxism-Leninism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Assistant to the Director of the Policy Research Office and Deputy Director of the General Affairs Office (CASS). He was appointed Party Secretary and Vice President of the Institute of Information Studies (CASS) in February 2012, Party Secretary and President of the Academy of Marxism (CASS) in September and November 2018, respectively. He became a member of the Party Committee of CASS and President of the Institute of Contemporary China Studies (Deputy Minister level) in December 2018, and began to serve simultaneously as Vice President of CASS in July 2021. In April 2022, he was appointed Standing Committee Member of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Minister of its Publicity Department.

　　He has long been engaged in research on theories of Marxism, scientific socialism and international communist movement, and Marxism and socialism in contemporary world. He serves as Vice President of the Chinese Association of Scientific Socialism, Vice President of the Chinese Association for the History of the Communist Party of China, Vice President of the Association of National History of the People’s Republic of China, doctoral students advisor at the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Distinguished Professor at the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He carries the title of “Young and Middle-Aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions to the Country,” receiver of “Special Government Allowance from the State Council,” member of “National Hundred and Thousand and Ten Thousand Talents,” receiver of “Funding for  Experts in Culture and Four Types of Professionals,” leading expert in philosophy and social sciences of the “National Ten Thousand Experts Project,” member of the Advisory Committee of the “Project of Theoretical Research and Construction of Marxism” of the CPC Central Committee, and member of the Discipline Reviewing Team of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council.
