Han Meiqun：Original Contribution of Xi Jinping’s Important Discourse on “Four Confidence”

Abstract: Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, General Secretary Xi Jinping has creatively put forward the major proposition of “Four Confidence” (confidence in path, theory, system and culture) and a series of new ideas, new viewpoints and new judgments with a broad and far-reaching strategic vision and a global vision. The important discourse on “Four Confidence” of General Secretary Xi Jinping is the theoretical innovation in the governance of China by the central committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as its core, and is an important part of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, which creatively constructs the theoretical framework of “four in one” concerning socialism with Chinese characteristics, expands the overall understanding of socialism with Chinese characteristics, enriches and develops the theory of scientific socialism, promotes the innovation and development of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times in the new era, and provides a new wisdom for the world modernization and the form of human civilization. The important discourse on “Four Confidence” is General Secretary Xi Jinping’s mature thinking on “what is wrong with the world and what should we do” with “a strategy of national rejuvenation amid global changes of a magnitude not seen in a century” in his mind, which provides an ideological weapon and majestic power for dealing with the changes in the world, the new era and history.
