Duan Hong：The Logical Starting Point, Historical Evolution and Value Purport of Chinese-Style Modernization

Abstract:At the opening ceremony of the seminar on the study and implementation of the spirits of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed and explained the theory of Chinese-style modernization, which provided the fundamental guideline for the current modernization construction of our country. Chinese-style modernization is socialist modernization under the leadership of the CPC, which breaks the long-held myth of “Western centrism” and establishes a new form of human civilization in practice. At present, China’s main task of modernization construction is still to focus on economic development, while eliminating the drawbacks of Western modernization, liberate and develop productive forces and continuously start a new journey of Chinese-style modernization. A comprehensive explanation of the logical starting point, historical evolution, and value purport of Chinese-style modernization is not only the best explanation for Chinese-style modernization, but also the necessary meaning of the topic of continuously promoting adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times.
