In the Constitution of the Communist League, Marx and Engels not only carried out an overall institutional design for the construction of Marxist political parties, but also roughly outlined the basic framework for the construction of grass - roots party organizations. Taking this as the main logical line and combining with their great practical explorations in guiding the construction of the Communist League, the International Workingmen’s Association, the Socialist International and Marxist political parties in European and American countries, we can understand Marx and Engels’ thoughts on grass - roots party building from five dimensions: the status of grass - roots party organizations, their main functions, ideological construction, organizational construction and discipline construction.
