Wu Jing:Reshaping the “Resilience Joint” :Reflection on the Complexity of Subsumption Forms under the Platform Capitalism
     Release time: 2025-01-06

Under the conditions of platform capitalism, digital platforms are evolving into an ecosystem that breaks through the boundaries of economic production field.Digital platforms have built professional labor supply and demand businesses around the trend of socialized labor migration.Gig labor has intensified labor fragmentation, offshore, and global competition. In the commodifying process of labor, capital has formed a deeper level of exploitation of labor, thereby exacerbating the risk of poverty among workers.Digital platforms have further amplified the externalities of the network and become a new means for capital to absorb social public goods. Total subsumption has become a prominent feature of platform capitalism.Facing the total subsumption in the era of platform capitalism,it is necessary to reflect on the social spillover trend of labor under platform conditions beyond regulating the platform itself. The widespread connectivity within the social system provides the possibility of establishing more flexible risk response mechanisms.
