The report of the Twentieth National Congress of the CPC has initially constructed a theoretical form of Chinese-style modernization from a political point of view. From the perspective of China’s ideological and theoretical construction and the evolution of its ideology, the emergence of the theoretical form of Chinese-style modernization is not only a historical self-consciousness and an independent choice following its own unique historical, practical and theoretical logic,but also a profound reflection and a major innovation in response to “West-centrism”. From a theoretical point of view, this brand-new modernization theory is a combination of “road existence”, “civilization existence”, “national existence”, “humanity existence” and “social existence”, “people-centeredness existence”, “value existence”,“inclusiveness existence” “worldwide existence”, and “philosophical existence” as an integral whole, highlighting the essential characteristics, civilization form, national characteristics, human nature, social governance, people’s standards, common values, human destiny, world contribution and philosophical roots of this modernization theory form. These 10 elements and their internal logic not only systematically construct the theoretical form of Chinese-style modernization in theoretical terms, but also highlight its significant advantage which distinguishes itself from as well as surpasses Western modernization and “West-centrism”, and lead the development of Chinese-style modernization in practice with the power of thought, providing a new choice for mankind to realize modernization, and further consolidating China’s cultural subjectivity in terms of ideological and theoretical construction.
