Zhao Jianying: On the Basic Connotation of Xi Jinping Thought on Cultural Development

　　Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China(CPC) Central Committee, has put forward a series of new ideas and new visions on cultural development, which is a theoretical achievement in adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times, constituting the cultural chapter of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Xi Jinping Thought on Cultural Development provides theoretical analysis of and profound insights into how to extensively apply the core socialist values, how to build China’s knowledge system, how to safeguard cybersecurity and how to build up China’s strength in cyberspace, how to promote international communication and mutual learning between various civilizations, and how to strengthen the Party’s overall leadership.
