As a historical category, capital is a product of the development of social productive forces to a specific stage. There are various forms of capital in the socialist market economy, which can promote the rational and effective utilization of resources, promote the development of social productivity, and create social wealth.capital’s nature of pursuing of profit can also cause problems such as wealth inequality, thereby constraining the further development of productivity. Capital is the tool that drives the development of productivity in China at present, and it is a means rather than an end. Based on the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, which is a new historical direction for China’s development, the government should control capital, set up “traffic lights” for capital, strengthen effective supervision of capital in accordance with the law, and prevent the brutal growth of capital.
