Becoming a powerful and modernized country is a common theme in the development of all countries in the world since modern times, especially since the 20th century. Up to this day, there still lacks an internationally accepted concept of modernization, nor is there a unified theoretical paradigm and structural model on how to define and comprehensively measure a country’s modernization development level and the status of a modern power. On the basis of absorbing the beneficial achievements of Western modernization theory, the Chinese modernization road creatively constructs a measurement and evaluation standard with “comprehensive national strength” as the guide and the structural elements of a great modern socialist country as the overall analysis framework, forms a model of structural elements of a great modern country with economic strength, scientific and technological strength and national defense strength as the explicit elements of hard power and political leadership, cultural soft power and international influence as the implicit elements of soft power, and contributes Chinese wisdom to the innovation of world modernization theory.
