Lin Yi:Reshape Democracy: The Surpass of the Whole-process People’s Democracy to Western Democracy
     Release time: 2022-05-11

When contemporary Western democracy faces the dual dilemma of democratic decline and governance decline, China’s whole-process people’s democracy has entered a new stage of development. However, under the circumstance that the Western monopoly of democratic interpretation has not fundamentally changed, in order to accurately understand and systematically interpret the successful experience of China’s democratic development path, we could not just talk about ourselves in the context of Chinese, but need to examine the whole process of people’s democracy in contrast to Western democracy. From this, it can be found that it is precisely because the whole-process people’s democracy provides an institutional guarantee for the realization of popular sovereignty, reshapes the relationship between democracy and governance that has been destroyed by Western democracy, and replace the substantive democratic content system by solving the problem of “electoral election” replacing democracy in a targeted manner. At the same time, the whole-process people’s democracy has the characteristics of continuous updating and adjustment, and the pursuit of self-transcendence, which has successfully avoided the dilemma of Western democracy, thus has surpassed the shackles of Western democracy on democracy and has guided the democracy back to its diversified, substantial, and whole-process development track.
