Engels is the universally acknowledged revolutionary teacher and great leader of the proletariat, and one of the worthy founders of Marxism.However, some studies have, intentionally or unintentionally, portrayed him as a “distorter” or even a “deviant” of Marxism, which to a certain extent obscures or even denies Engels’historical position and great contributions. The best way to commemorate Engels on the 200th anniversary of his birth is to fully understand his role and contribution to the founding of Marxism, to refute with facts and theories the various misinformation about the non-existing opposition between Marxist and Engels, and to learn from the latter’s lofty spirit, noble morality and great demeanor.
