Shi Zhongquan:How Mao Zedong Became the Core of CPC’s Leadership

Mao Zedong is the founder of the CPC; however, he experienced ups and downs for a considerably long time before he became the Party ’s top leader.At the early foundation of the CPC,he once served as a secretary of the CPC Central Bureau, assisting Chen Duxiu,Chairman of the CPC Central Bureau,to deal with daily affairs. During the Great Revolution period,he was sequentially appointed a candidate for central executive member for the Central Committee of the KMT and the CPC. During the period of Zun Yi Conference,Mao Zedong was not the first hand but became the core of the Party’s leadership.The Political Bureau in Sep.1938 announced the direction of the International Communism,publicizing Mao Zedong’s core leadership.During Rectification Movement in Yan’an, Mao Zedong officially became Chairman of the CPC Central Committee after the rearrangement of Central Secretariat.At the Seventh National Congress of the CPC,Mao Zedong was elected Chairman for the CPC Central Committee.His thoughts and ideologies became the guideline for CPC,bringing forward the historical leap in the localization of Marxism. The Seventh National Congress of the CPC established Mao’s Party leadership and made his ideologies the guideline for CPC.
