Li Shenming:“Rule by Man” and “Rule of Law” in Marxism Discourse
     Release time: 2015-11-22

A full understanding of the relations between “rule by man” and “rule of law” denies abandonment to contemporary Western discourses as Marxism fundamentally differs from other Western discourse in the essence and nature of the two concepts. In some sense, distinct historical entities with their unique subjective initiative, even confronted with the same condition, could lead to entirely different historical processes and results. The governance system and capability of a nation have a kinship with its historical inheritance and traditional cultures. Therefore, the only way to solve

problems in China lies in seeking a suitable path and approach within the country. On the other hand, modernizing national governance system and capability, which requires reference to and lessons from all distinguished achievements in human civilization, involves more creative progress in accordance with our realities than blind copying others’ politics and institutions.
