Mao Zedong made great contribution to the great cause of China’s new-democratic revolution, socialist revolution and socialist construction, as well as to the exploration of the socialist road with Chinese characteristics. Mao Zedong thought is the creative application and development of Marxism-Leninism in China, and the embodiment, enrichment and development of dialectical and historical materialism in Chinese revolution and construction. Mao Zedong thought is the powerful theoretical weapon that guides the whole Party and Chinese people to the success of Chinese revolution, thus constituting the conceptual and theoretical basis of the Chinese socialist cause. We should stick to and develop Mao Zedong thought, advance socialism with Chinese characteristics unswervingly, and properly understand the dialectical relationship between two historical periods before and after the reform and opening up, as well as the dialectical relationship between Mao Zedong thought and the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
