Lu Yizhi：American Democratic Discourse Systemand Discourse Power Deconstruction

Abstract: National elitism and cultural imperialism are the theoretical support for the establishment of Western centralism and the theoretical basis for the construction of American democratic discourse system and discourse power. Discourse hegemonism and extreme egoism are the means and purposes of American democratic discourse system and discourse power construction. American democracy conceals its essence and hypocrisy by deception and lies, and adheres to the double-faced tactics of being “false” and “real” in its methodology. Being “false” in domestic matters means hollowing out and blurring the domestic democratic connotation and concrete practice. Being “real” in foreign affairs means discrediting, slandering and suppressing the democratic connotation and institutional arrangements of non-Western tradition and innovation, forcing them to establish American democracy and guarantee the so-call “democracy and freedom”.
