Since the 1960s, French left-wing philosophers have made a large number of philosophical interpretations of On Contradiction that are distinctively theoretical, diverse, and radical. French scholars have closely combined On Contradiction with the theoretical themes of French Marxism, which are to revive dialectics and oppose dogmatism and mechanical determinism. Humanists and structuralists have engaged in a fierce theoretical confrontation over how and to what extent to reconstruct the dialectical theoretical system with the concept of contradiction. The new generation of radical left-wing scholars in France have analyzed the process of contradictory movement in more detail and tried to find ways to activate the struggle over dialectics.
