In the new era of reform, opening up, and socialist modernization construction, Comrade Deng Xiaoping adhered to, applied, and developed the Marxist worldview and methodology, gained insight into the domestic and international development trends, and made a series of major strategic decisions that are related to the long-term development of the Party and the state, the future and destiny of socialism, and the development of humanity. Adhering to the Marxist worldview and methodology, Deng Xiaoping put forward the ideological line of emancipating the mind and seeking truth from facts, firmly refuting the so-called “outdated Marxist theory”, and emphasizing grasping the main contradictions and central tasks. Using the Marxist worldview and methodology, Deng Xiaoping scientifically evaluated the historical status of Comrade Mao Zedong and the scientific system of Mao Zedong Thought; By combining Marxism with China’s specific realities, we have led China to embark on the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics and put forward the theory of the primary stage of socialism. Deng Xiaoping proposed the method of “crossing the river by feeling the stones” and the systematic dialectical reform to develop the Marxist worldview and methodology.
