     Release time: 2024-08-20
As a new form of capitalism that transforms emotions into an important means of capital accumulation, emotional capitalism is a product of the catena of Emotional Sociology’ prosperity, socioeconomic structure’ great transformation, the universalization of communication in digital society, and the commodification of social relationships. It is mainly characterized by the marketization, politicization, presetting and stratification of emotions, The interweaving of consumerism logic and emotions has made emotions being hunted, kidnapped and manipulated by capital logic, which leads to the sustaining innovation of the realization form of capital accumulation, ordered transformation of political governance mode, and the concrete infiltration of western ideology. Emotional capitalism disguises the fake universality of the interests of the capitalist class with the consumerist logic, conceals the pseudo legitimacy of the capitalist class’ rule with the “post truth” nature of emotional rule, obscures the pseudo eternity of the capitalist class fate with the alienation of emotional labor, disguises the inverted economic foundation with emotional fetishism, and dissolves the subjectivity of the revolutionary class with emotional public, It has strong characteristics of concealment, confusion, falsehood and deception, as well as the distinct capitalist ideological attributes, which must be analyzed, exposed, and criticized.
