After 40 years of independent construction and development, the discipline of history of ideological and political education of the CPC has achieved a series of results in the research of historical theory, history of theoretical development, history of stages, thematic history, and experience and implication, and formed the research paradigm of the discipline of history of ideological and political education of the CPC. At the new historical starting point, it is necessary to further consolidate the foundation of historical theory for the development of the discipline, consciously apply the historical research methods, construct an independent historical system, thus to promote the long-term development of the discipline of history of ideological and political education of the CPC and the discipline of ideological and political education.
