Yuanqun: The Current Situation , Challenges and Prospects of the Communist Movement in Nepal after the 2022 General Election
     Release time: 2024-01-23

The Communist Party of Nepal (United Marxist-Leninist) and the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) lost in the 2022 general election. The fact that the two parties separated again after forming a governing coalition for the second time is due to the violation of the power-sharing agreement by CPN(UML) with CPN(Moist Centre) and CPN (UML)s considerations of its own practical interests. The fragmentation in political party structure, the conflict of practical interests and the intervention of external forces will adversely affect the development of the communist movement in Nepal. The result of the election once again proves that development in twists and turns is the basic situation of the communist movement in Nepal. Its future will rely upon the political stability through strengthening solidarity and the well-handled balance between maintaining a partys own characteristics and carrying forward its transformation.
