The overseas studies on the Communist Party of China(CPC) has made new progress in 2022 by following the tradition while focusing on the new reality of the CPC, and by focusing on the interaction between overseas and domestic research. The overseas studies on the CPC in 2022 focused on the 20th CPC National Congress, the CPC’s leadership in Chinese modernization, the CPC’s successful leadership in the fight against the Covid-19, the centennial journey and valuable experiences and achievements of the CPC, and the organizational system and strengths of the CPC, achieved new results and formed new understandings. These new understandings have made unique contributions to deepening overseas studies on the CPC and shaping overseas “Views on the CPC”. Meanwhile, these studies also present a new trend: overseas studies on the CPC play a more prominent role in leading and shaping the overseas “Views on the CPC” in the new era; overseas research on the CPC has further deepened, and research topics are becoming more extensive and pertinent; there is a greater focus on contemporary CPC, while the study of CPC history is not enough; the leading role of the CPC in shaping the international image of the CPC is increasingly prominent; new methods and new technologies are widely used. Therefore, a comprehensive understanding of the latest development of the overseas studies on the CPC is of great significance for promoting the CPC studies.
