The all-round development of human being is the core proposition of Marxism. The spiritual life is a key factor in determining the degree of one’s development. Under capitalist private ownership, the alienation of labor leads to the alienation of one’s spiritual life and the alienation of spiritual life leads to one-sided development of men and women. Through critique of one-sided development of human being under capitalism, Marx put forward the proposition of all-round development of human being, and also found the key to solving the problems of the alienation of spiritual life and the development of human being, that is, to replace capitalism with more advanced social forms( socialism and communism). In socialist and communist societies, the realization of common prosperity in spiritual life and the realization of all-round development of human being are intrinsically unified, and to realize common prosperity in spiritual life is to realize the overall development. In the new era, to promote common prosperity of the people’s spiritual life and all-round development of the people, we should strengthen the guidance of the core socialist values, improve ideological and moral education, enhance publicity of spiritual civilization, and improve public cultural service system, so as to meet the people’s spiritual needs, enrich the people’s spiritual life, and enhance the people’s spiritual realm.
