Ontology and Marx's "ontological commitment" are difficult problems which can not be avoided for the study of Marx' s thought. The study has found that Marx gave birth to the idea of labor ontology in Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts in 1844 and determined the idea of labor ontology in On the outline of Feuerbach and German Ideology. However, in the creation of Das Kapital, he began to hesitate in labor ontology. In Das Kapital,Marx by no means discussed labor in the ontological meaning. Instead, he researched on labor and relevant issues in the general meaning. The ontology in Das Kapital is only capital. Only by grasping this point can we thoroughly understand Das Kapital and truly verify the essence and logic of capitalism.
