In the Yan’an period, Mao Zedong took the united front, armed struggle and Party construction and their mutual relations as the three basic issues of correct leadership in Chinese revolution. The pioneering Party construction made the Party of unity armed with Mao Zedong Thought, providing strong political guarantee for the victory of the Chinese new-democratic revolution towards socialism. In the primary stage of socialism,the three basic issues of Chinese socialist modernization are adherence to the Four Cardinal Principles,the development through reform and opening -up,Party construction and their mutual relations.The Party construction is the political insurance for adherence to the Four Cardinal Principles and reform and opening up.It is our immediate task to summarize and learn historical experience and lessons from the three basic issues and their relations since the reform and opening up, clarify the main tasks of Party construction,and strengthen the project of Party construction on the basis of an all-out effort to enforce strict Party discipline. Therefore, carefully studying and learning the experience of Party construction led by Mao Zedong in the Yan’an period is necessary for achieving contemporary party construction.
