The socialist system with Chinesecharacteristics, a new concept in recent years, had not been considered much related with Deng Xiaoping in the past.In fact, DengXiaoping made a great contribution to the establishment of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics and the enrichment anddevelopment of ideological and theoretical system of Chinese socialism.First, Deng Xiaoping actually proposed “socialist system withChinese characteristics.”Second, Deng Xiaoping had a series of thoughts about the socialist system with Chinese characteristics: thethought of the fundamental guarantee of the development and progress of contemporary China一the socialist system with Chinesecharacteristics;the thought of the fundamental political system of the socialism with Chinese characteristics, the thought of the importantcontent of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics—a socialist system of laws with Chinese characteristics,the thought of the basic economic system of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics—the public sector remaining dominant and diverse sectors of the economy developing side by side.He also had three thoughts about the basic politics system of the socialism with Chinesecharacteristics:a multi-party cooperation and political consultative system under the leadership of the CPC, the system of autonomy ofethnic regions, the system of communitv level self—governance.
