Wang Tingyou：To Make the Socialist System More Mature in the Process of Chinese-Style Modernization

Abstract: System construction is an important aspect of modernization and an important guarantee as well. How to promote modernization in backward China is an arduous undertaking. For more than 70 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), the Communist Party of China (CPC) has led its people in a valuable exploration. Practice has shown that China cannot engage in modernization without strong system support and the modernization of its governance system and capacity. The 20th National Congress of the CPC put forward the strategic decision to promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese-style modernization. And the realization of the strategic decision and strategic plan made in the 20th National Congress of the CPC requires that the whole party and society unite their strengths and make unremitting efforts, and also requires that the CPC leads the people to be firm in their system self-confidence and pushes forward the system construction in an all-round way. A deep understanding of the significance of system change and modernization of governance capacity for the promotion of Chinese-style modernization, a comprehensive grasp of the achievements of China’s system construction and governance in laying a solid foundation for Chinese-style modernization, and an in-depth discussion of promoting socialist system with Chinese characteristics to become more mature in the course of reform and innovation will help us to comprehensively comprehend the scientific connotation of Chinese-style modernization and its essential requirements.
