At present, the world is undergoing profound changes unseen in a century. Because of the profound changes in the international order, the increasingly complex international environment, the escalation of competition and confrontation between major powers, China is faced with more severe external environment, risks and challenges in improving its international discourse power. At the same time, however, the rise of the emerging market economies such as China and the historic decline of the United State and the West have brought opportunities for the transformation of the global discourse pattern and have accelerated the adjustment of this pattern. On the basis of in-depth analysis of the trend of the changes of the international discourse pattern and the characteristics of the international discourse game, we should strengthen innovative research on the agenda setting of China’s international discourse, explore cultural transformation of China’s international discourse dissemination, and establish platforms and channels for such dissemination so as to improve China’s international discourse power.
