State governance objectively coexists with the emergence of the state. The concept, researches and theories of state governance have all originated in the West. However, Chinese state governance does not rigidly copy the theoretical and discursive systems of the West. Chinese state governance boasts of rich Chinese characteristics through exploring governance paths suitable for China’s national conditions, dramatically different from its Western counterpart in terms of political party systems, governance subjects, conceptual constraints and governance goals. Therefore, studying the characteristics of Chinese state governance and its institutional advantages is of great theoretical significance and practical inspiration for promoting the modernisation of Chinese state governance.
