There are two main points in scientific socialism: one is communism and the other is internationalism.The pathway to socialism with Chinese characteristics does not abandon these two points,but the basic conditions of the primary stage of socialism dictate that China can only adopt the strategy of“retreating to advance”and make a roundabout way towards the goal of communism.The new stage of development is not only“a part in the primary stage of socialism”,but also“an important stage in the development of socialism in China”.It is a demand for us to move from the primary stage of socialism to a higher stage.The development of the road to socialism with Chinese characteristics shows that the “communist” and “internationalist” nature of the CPC dictates that we should constantly uphold the unity of the common ideals of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the lofty ideals of communism.
