The report of the CPC’s Nineteenth Congress reveals the main features of a modern socialist power and puts forward to build a prosperous, strong, democratic, civilized, harmonious and beautiful modern socialist country in an all-round way, which is the overall goal of adhering to and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. The basic connotations of a strong socialist modern state are reflected in six core features: economic, political,cultural, social, ecological and governance modernization. The issue of evaluating the modernization of a country has long been a common challenge in modernization researches. Therefore, the construction of an indicator system is a very important aspect in the theory and practice of evaluating a modern socialist power. In accordance with the basic connotations of a modern socialist power and the basic principles that the indicators of a modern socialist power should follow, we should establish a system of evaluation indicators for the six aspects of a modern socialist power.
