The 19th CPC National Congress has imposed great significance on the promotion of the CPC and national issues as well as the development of national historical studies of the People's Republic of China. As scholars of national history, we should associate our studies on New China history and national history with studying the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress. We should fully recognize the great role of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era in distinguishing a new historical phase of the PRC,grasp the significance of connecting, summarizing and blending the experience from pre- and post- implementing the opening-up and reform policy for rectifying the course of opening-up and reform, and comprehend the importance of establishing correct historical perception against historical nihilism and

furthering the education concerning the CPC and national history.
