Liu Xukuan, Doctor of Laws, is Director of Research Unit of Ideology and Social Trend, and Associate Researcher at the Academy of Marxism, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS); Adviser to postgraduate students at School of Marxism, University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is mainly engaged in research on theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics, Party building, public service and social construction. He is the author of seven monographs, including Research on Plato’s Ethical Thinking, The Driving Force of Governance, Modernization of the National Governance System and Capacity. He was awarded one special prize for excellent countermeasure information of the CASS and three third prizes, one prize for Good Articles on Marxist Theory and Dissemination of the CASS, and a number of prizes for excellent achievements and excellent works of the Academy of Marxism. He has published more than 100 articles in academic journals and newspapers such as Studies on Marxism, Journal of Beijing Normal University, Philosophical Trends, Guangming Daily, Economic Daily, Studies in Ethics, World Socialism Studies, and has written more than 30 reports to higher authorities on governmental affairs. He has delivered more than 100 lectures and talks at the Rocket Army, the General Armament Department of the Navy, the Beijing Municipal Committee, the Ministry of Commerce, Xinhua News, the China World Trade Center and other organizations.
