Liu Zhichang is Doctor of Political Science, Researcher, and visiting scholar at Deakin University, Australia. He is Director of Research Unit of Basic Strategies of the Academy of Marxism, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and PhD Supervisor at the School of Marxism, University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is mainly engaged in research on Marxist theory, sinicization of Marxism, and socialism with Chinese characteristics. He has presided over a number of projects including those of the National Social Science Fund, the United Nations Children’s Fund, and the National Development and Reform Commission, and has participated in a number of projects such as the major commissioned project of the Marxist Project of the Central Committee, the Major Project of the National Social Science Fund, the Major Project of the Ministry of Education, and so on.

The book New Development and New Implications of Quanzhou Practicing “Jinjiang Experience” he participated in writing won the Second Prize of the 13th Outstanding Achievement Award in Social Sciences of Fujian Province; his book Modernization of National Governance and Public Services won the 2016 Outstanding Book of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; the book Evaluation of the Basic Public Services in China’s Cities (2014) he participated in as Editor-in-Chief won the Third Prize of the 6th Outstanding Pishu; the general report he participated in as Editor-in-Chief Evaluation of the Basic Public Services in China’s Cities (2010-2011) won the Second Prize of the 3rd Outstanding Report Award.
