Telangana: Left Parties to Fight BJP’s Autocratic Rule

  THE state-level convention on ‘Central government policies Fanaticism’ held on March 30, by 11 Left parties at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram in Hyderabad unanimously resolved to conduct a state-wide campaign and agitations from April 1 to 15. Conventions will be held across the state to campaign against the anti-people policies and the fanatics in the central government. 
  CPI(M) state secretariat member D G Narasimha Rao presided over the convention; CPI state secretary and MLA, K Sambasiva Rao, CPI(M) secretariat member S Veeraiah , CPI(ML) Mass Line state sSecretary P Ranga Rao, New Democracy state assistant secretary S VenkateswaraRao, New Democracy state secretariat member A Madhu, MCPI(U) state secretary G Ravi, SUCI leader Johny Pasha, RSP secretary Janaki Ramulu, CPI(ML) secretary Prasadanna, CPI(M) Liberation secretary M Ramesh Raja participated and addressed the convention.
  Addressing the meeting, CPI(M) secretariat member S Veeraiah said the Modi government failed to solve public issues during the past ten years. Instead, it created conflicts to capitalise on people’s discontent, he criticised, adding that Modi was running an autocratic government.
  He said that the opposition parties are being harassed and said that conspiracies are being spread to create communal discord and grab majority Hindu votes in the coming elections. The BJP government cannot solve public problems, he said. Malnutrition is on the rise. There are no minimum wages for agricultural workers and there is no policy to care for farmers' concerns.
  Veeraiah cited the case of electoral bonds and pointed how BJP amassed hundreds of crores of rupees for itself. He said that there is an increased need for Left, secular and democratic forces to fight against Modi’s anti-people policies.
  CPI state secretary and MLA, K Sambasiva Rao said Modi government  has trampled upon the constitution and is ruling the country autocratically. 
  He said Modi does not tolerate those who question the BJP and that those who question the BJP are getting arrested by ED, CBI, IT and sent to jail by registering false cases against them.
  CPI(ML) Mass Line secretary P Ranga Rao said that the BJP was suppressing the voices that question them by making the ED work like ‘KD’ (hooligan). S Venkateswar Rao pointed out how the fundamental rights of citizens are being undermined under the Modi rule.
  A Madhu highlighted the BJP government’s policies that are looting the mineral wealth deposited in the forests and hand them over to corporates. Ravi, Janaki Ramulu, Prasadanna and Ramesh Raja called upon the people to fight unitedly to protect democracy, constitutional values, and secularism. They said that if the centre’s attitude does not change, there will be resistance from the people. Bala Mallesh from CPI also participated.
