Chen Zhigang was born in October, 1972, and is now Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission and Vice-President of the Academy of Marxism of the CASS, Researcher, and PhD supervisor. He also serves as Director of Department of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. He obtained PhD from Peking University and once worked in the postdoctoral workstation in the Institute of Sociology of the CASS. He is Standing Director of Chinese Anthropological Society. His research areas are mainly Marxist Theory, Theory of Party Building, and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
His publications include monographs (Globalization and the Transcendence of Modernity, Critique of Modernity and Its Dialogue, Exploring Party Building in the New Era, etc.) and translated works (On Habermas, Globalization and Anti-globalization, Against Capitalism, etc.). He is also editor-in-chief of Great Spirit of the Communist Party of China Series and Blue Book of Party Building. He has published nearly 200 articles in newspapers and academic journals such as Philosophical Research, Studies on Marxism, Studies on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, Literature of Chinese Communist Party, Red Flag Manuscript, People’s Daily, Guangming Daily, Economic Daily, and so on.
He is now presiding over the major program of the National Social Science Foundation titled “Study on the New Form of Human Civilization Created by the People under the Leadership of the Communist Party of China” (Grant No. 22ZDA020). He has presided over and finished more than 10 national as well as provincial and ministerial level projects and won more than 10 provincial and ministerial awards.
