Xi Jinping’s important comments on the Soviet Union have clearly defined the position and influence of the Soviet Union in the history of world socialist development, elaborated in depth on the significant impact of the Soviet Union on China’s socialist revolution and construction, highly valued the mutual assistance cooperation between China and the Soviet Union in international affairs, and analyzed in a profound manner the various reasons for the collapse of the Soviet Union and the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. His comments have distinct characteristics in methodological terms,upholding systemic concepts and dialectical thinking, adhering to the organic unity of inheritance and development, and insisting on problem orientation and drawing lessons from history. Systematically studying Xi Jinping’s important comments on the Soviet Union will help enhance the theoretical and practical consciousness of upholding and strengthening the overall leadership of the CPC, maintain rational thinking and firmness in addressing the unique challenges faced by the Party, better promote the modernization of the national governance system and governance capacity, strengthen the “four confidences” on the basis of accurately understanding the history of socialist development, and construct a new type of major-country relations and a community with a shared future for mankind.
