Marco Rizzo、Alberto Lombardo: Thoughts on Xi Jinping’s Important Speech at the Symposium on Cultural Inheritance and Development
     Release time: 2023-11-21

In China, where absolute poverty is completely eliminated, the coordinated development of modern Chinese civilization makes Marx’s ideal “free kingdom” more concrete and promising. However, contemporary Western capitalist civilization is pushing the society to the brink of collapse due to distorted competitive tensions, degradation of workers’ rights, and spiritual degradation under many tangled conflicts. The cultural confidence and five prominent characteristics of the modern civilization of the Chinese nation are the necessary basis for the friendly cooperation between China and other countries and for pointing out the direction of multi-polarization for the world. In contrast, European capitalist civilization was dragged into the abyss of war by false patriotism and narrow nationalism in the first half of the 20th century, and cosmopolitanism made it a component of the homogenized world market and a subordinate to the transatlantic relations in the second half of the 20th century. At present, the Western imperialist powers, in the name of defending “free market” and “democracy”, are inciting war and undermining world peace and development, but China, which stresses that “harmony is the most precious”, is the real fortress for maintaining world peace.
