The CPC leads the people to open up a Chinese path by applying Marxist worldview and methodology. A deep grasp of the worldview and methodology of the classic Marxist writers is a precondition for combining the basic principles of Marxism with China’s concrete reality and with the best of traditional Chinese culture. The basic stand, viewpoint and method of the worldview and methodology of Xi Jin-ping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era are centered on six principles that“must be adhered to”, which have their roots in Marx and Engels’ concept of the history of the masses, the principle of subjectivity, the viewpoint of practice, the dialectical method of analysis, the viewpoint of universal connection and development, and the view of world history respectively.
