Adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times is a historical process, which should be understood with the specific historical reality and characteristics of the times as the carrier and give play to its value of the times. The third historical resolution of the CPC clearly stated that Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era “has achieved a new breakthrough in adapting Marxism to the Chinese context”, and the report of the 20th National Congress of the CPC further expressed it as“has achieved a new breakthrough in adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times”, which provides us with fundamental guidelines to fully decode the strategic meaning, realistic representation and dynamic basis for realizing the new breakthrough from the perspective of historical materialism. Interpreting the deep meaning and spiritual essence of the new breakthrough in adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times from the triple dimensions of theoretical form, essential connotation and historical implication, and taking a distant view of the logical main line and contemporary value of the new breakthrough in the century-long history of the Party, the history of the PRC, the history of reform and opening up, and the history of socialist development with the century-long process, are the necessary thing to clarify and bring into play the world influence of Marxism in the 21st century which is shown in the new breakthrough in solving the propositions of the times.
