The “Belt and Road” Initiative is a Chinese solution for the common development of countries along the route. Africa obtains development opportunities in the process of jointly building the “Belt and Road” with China. The concept of ChinaAfrica cooperation in such process is rooted in China’s view of the new international order, which adheres to common development, mutual benefit, mutual commitment and progress, and takes building a China-Africa community with shared future as the ultimate goal. Although China-Africa cooperation in building the “Belt and Road” already has had a solid material foundation, a multi-level cooperation system and extensive popular support, it also faces such practical difficulties as maintaining sustainable cooperation in joint projects, political turmoil in Africa, differences in cognation and competition among major powers. The joint construction of a quality “Belt and Road” with Africa requires, on the Chinese side, a precise link to Africa’s industries that urgently need development, innovation in institutional platform, solution to problems affecting sustainable cooperation, well told China story, and correct guidance of African public opinions related to China.
