Sun Xin-sheng:The Historical Experience of the CPC’s Centennial Institutionalization of Resisting Corruption and Preventing Degeneration
     Release time: 2021-06-29

That the CPC could resist corruption and prevent degeneration in all periods of revolution, construction and reform lies not so much in “relying on mass movements to fight corruption before 1978 and on institutions after 1978” as in the CPC as a highly institutionalised Marxist-Leninist party that constantly focuses on institutionalised ways to resist corruption and prevent degeneration since its establishment. Over the past 100 years, the Party has taken institutionalization as the main line in its fight against corruption and degeneration, gradually straightened out the dialectical relationship between institutionalisation and mass participation in the fight, and established effective institutional arrangements for ideological education, organisation, corruption punishment and power supervision. To promote corruption resistence and degeneration prevention in the new era, it is necessary to summarise and pass on these historical experience, so as to lay a solid foundation for the CPC to resist the erosion of various corruption factors and to stay in power for a long time.
