Cheng Jianjia and Ma Qinrong:The Mirror Image of Western Marxism’s Critical Theory and Its Implication
Source: TUDIES ON MARXISM (Monthly) 2014 No. 4      Release time: 2014-04-25

In the development history of Marxist theory, Western Marxism gradually turned to the criticism of culture and ideology after Marx had initiated the tradition of critique of political economy. Western Marxism finally become a theory within their “study room” with characteristics of pessimism. The implication is that abstract critique of social culture and ideology should turn back to the critique of political economy, and only in this way can it be integrated with practical activities. Consciously returning to and persist in the theory and practice of Marxist critique of political economy is the realistic foundation for the Marxist ruling party in China to gain self-confidence in its route, theory and system.
