Xu Chongwen: Several Problems about How to Understand China Model
Source: Studies on Marxism, 2010.No.4      Release time: 2013-07-04
Abstract: There’s a popular view among Chinese academics that, adopted by foreigners with ulterior motives, China model should be used with caution. Opposing to the view, this article emphasizes that Deng Xiaoping had mentioned China model as early as 1980s and stressed that each nation should think independently to find development model confirming to its actual conditions. Without any intent to demonstrate, China model mentioned by Deng focuses on the diversity of socialist construction and modernization path. It is not to reflect nationalism, but the consistent demand from proletariat to respect national characteristics and national differences. China model can be referred by other countries, but can’t be copied, nor imposed, which differs it from the so called “consensus”. China model needs improving with times, but this does not hinder its objective reality.
